How to Sell Beats on Facebook – Steps 1 & 2 – The Basics
If you’re gonna sell beats on Facebook, you’ll need a few basic things. Let’s start there…
Step 1. Creating a Facebook Account/Page – If you aren’t already one of the billion people on Facebook than the first thing you must do is sign up for a free Facebook account.
After you sign up you’ll have a basic personal profile. You’ll use that to manage your BUSINESS PAGE.
After you have this, you can then go create your Facebook business page here.
You can create as many as you want, just start with one.
To sell beats on Facebook you’ll need to “create a page.”
Here’s the direct link to create a Facebook business page >> https://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
Choose the category that fits best for your business, fill in your business name, agree to the Facebook terms and add all your other basic info.
After that’s done, we’ll move on to some basic editing of your page.
Step 2. Editing/Building Your Page – Once you have your profile created it’s time to edit some of the basic areas of the page, including the cover photo, profile picture, “about” section and finally, the tab area, where we’ll create and add custom tabs.
The screenshot below should quickly clear up where these areas are.
This is basically BRANDING your business, so if you don’t know shit about graphic design or Photoshop, hop over to Fivrr.com to find someone who can hook you up with what you’ll need.
Don’t skimp on this stuff, you’ll be surprised the type of outsourcers you can find to do work for you… even on a shoestring budget.
After you fill in the basic info and get that right, turn your attention to the cover photo and profile picture.
Both of these areas are crucial areas that represent yourself and your brand so try to make them look as good as possible.
It’s gotta be something that represents you and/or your company in the best light possible and makes a great first impression.
You have a short period of time to grab a persons attention (and keep it) or they’re out!
To successfully sell beats on Facebook, it’s a Major Advantage to have a well branded, clean cover photo and profile pic.
If you’re good with creating or editing your own images, (or know someone who is) you could whip up something for your page and save a few bucks..?
At the time of writing this article, the size of the cover photo is 851px x 314px.
The profile pic can vary in size but will work best if the dimensions are an even square. ( i.e… 500px x 500px)
Like I said… if you can’t create your own graphics, outsource the work and pay someone to do it for you.
You can find a lot of people online that are capable of doing what you need for a fair price.
Just do some Google searches yo!
How to Sell Beats on Facebook – Steps 3 – 5 – A Lil More Advanced…
Like I mentioned earlier, to know how to sell beats on Facebook you’ll need a way of offering your beats for sale to potential customers, right?
To do this we need 2 things…
Custom tabs mixed with a 3rd party service. Your automated beat store.
We’ll talk about the 3rd party services in a minute, but first let’s install a custom tab. (or 2)
Step 3. Installing Custom Tabs – The key to selling your beats on Facebook is using the custom tab feature correctly.
Installing a custom Facebook tab might sound tricky if you’ve never done it before but it’s actually pretty simple. (Especially with these easy to follow instructions ;) Okay, so follow the steps below and you’ll be that much closer to selling your beats on Facebook.
- Search in Facebook for “Static HTML” and click on Static Iframe Tab
- Click “Install Page Tab” and follow the instructions provided…
- After you’ve installed the page tab, go back to your page and find the custom tab. (You may have to hit down on the drop arrow to find it) Once you find it – click on the tab and than click the small link marked “settings” It will take you to a page that looks like this…
After you make the changes mentioned above, it’s time add the beat store.
Step 4. Adding Your Beat Selling Store – To sell beats on Facebook quickly and easily, automation is the name of the game!
There are a few of different ways to automate beat sales on Facebook and some easier than others. One of the most widely used and easiest ways to sell beats on Facebook is with a custom beat store provided by www.myflashsore.net.
With a myflashstore.net membership, you can easily upload your beats to a customizable beat selling player/store and easily re-arrange beats, change beat prices, offer .mps – .WAV files and fully tracked out beats, add custom “TAGS” and much more!
After your the beat player is set, myflashstore will provide your embed code that you can take and place wherever you like around the internet, including Facebook.
You can paste this code to as many places as you want around the internet, including your own website, facebook page and Soundclick page to name a few…
Super powerful, automated beat selling tool to sell beats on Facebook without a bunch of technical hassle..
Here’s an example of what the code will look like…
<object type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” height=”373″ width=”705″ data=”http:// www .my flashstore.net/ flash/istore.swf?user_id=1315″ allowscriptaccess=”always”>
<param name=”movie” value=”http:// www .my flashstore.net/ flash/istore.swf?user_id=1315″ />
<param name=”menu” value=”false” />
<param name=”wmode” value=”transparent” />
<param name=”allowscriptaccess” value=”always” />
<param name=”flashvars” value=”0″>
You can then place your code into the custom tab settings like below…
If you’re familiar with HTML or use other program’s that use HTML code you could insert it here to customize your tab however you like.
For example, you could use this space to create an email capture form, like this example here.
A few advantages of using a custom tab to sell beats on Facebook instead of going direct with the app is the ability to add your own custom tab image and with the custom HTML space you can add more graphics around your beat player, basically giving much more control over the space around your beat store.
Either way you decide, you still have a badass beat selling powerhouse at your fingertips.
Step 5. Promoting Your *New* Fully Customized Beat Selling Facebook Page – Now that you’re all set up, it’s now time to focus on promoting, marketing and ultimately getting traffic to your new beat mecca.
While there is no magic formula to getting traffic to your page, there are some time-tested proven methods to creating an online buzz.
Marketing your beats will be the most important part of your overall strategy and the key to successfully making money selling beats on Facebook.
Proper online marketing and promotion is a whole other BEAST within itself so I’ll be preparing an entirely separate post to cover some of the methods you can use to get traffic. So be on the lookout for that
In the meantime, get started creating your Facebook page and open up your beat store.
I hope you crush it.
